To recognize our Veterans, District 5430 has organized a food drive during our District Assembly Day on March 9, 2024. We are asking our participants to bring in non-perishable food items to the event. No glass items please. Click "Read More" for additional information and instructions.
District 5430 has partnered with Feeding San Diego, Uniting to Combat Hunger and Humana to sponsor a food donation drive to help our military families and veterans. Besides helping our military families and veterans, Participating VFW Posts may receive up to $1,500 in an unrestricted UTCH Grant.
The program works like this: For every pound of food, or $1 donated to the post, the VFW Foundation will provide a $1 match. In order to qualify for the matching gift, a minimum of 500 lbs. or $500 must be collected to qualify for the match.
Participating will certainly add to all the efforts we have done this year in Creating Hope in the World.
