Youth Exchange
Youth Exchange is a study-abroad opportunity and/or a cultural understanding opportunity for young people who spend anywhere from a few weeks to a full year as an international student hosted by local Rotary clubs. Rotary District 5340 participates in three Rotary Exchange Programs: a) We sponsor inbound and outbound students for Long Term Exchange which takes place during the academic year; b) Short Term Exchange is a family to family exchange that takes place during the summer months; and c) Summer Camp offers both inbound and outbound students the opportunity to spend two to three weeks in camps organized by local Rotary Clubs. A subset of the Summer Camp is MusicCamp™ – unique to our District – where young musicians from around the world spend a few weeks in San Diego collaborating with local young musicians and culminating in a concert with the San Diego Youth Symphony. Youth Exchange is open to all students age 15-18.5.
