March is Peace and Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) Month.

Rotary is dedicated to six areas of focus to build international relationships, improve lives, and create a better world to support our peace efforts and end polio forever. Water and Sanitation is one of those six areas of focus.

This month focuses on promoting sustainable, clean water and hygiene education to communities worldwide, aligning with World Water Day on March 22.

Clean water, basic sanitation, and proper hygiene are fundamental human rights, yet a staggering 2.2 billion people still lack access to safe drinking water.

We’re taking action. Rotary International, through the combined actions of individual Rotarians and Rotary Clubs, seeks to assure that all people have adequate access to clean and safe water. Through these numerous initiatives, we are implementing sustainable solutions that expand access to clean, safe, and readily available water for people around the world.

This March, as we recognize WASH Month and World Water Day, let us recommit to being part of the solution — because clean water changes everything, and lasting change begins with us.
