Travelers Aid San Diego was selected as recruiters for the San Diego County Long Term Care Ombudsman Program.  They are looking for ombudsman volunteers and are reaching out to area service organization to recruit people interested in making a difference by volunteering in their communities.

You can make a difference!
  • Visit local facilities on a regular basis.
  • Inform residents of their rights.
  • Advocate for residents and assist with conflict resolution.
How to get started:
  • Attend a free online information/orientation session. 
  • Pass a medical and background check.
  • Attend a 35-hour certification course.
  • Have access to reliable transportation.
  • Make a one-year commitment of about 20 hours per month.
