Unbeknownst to either club, both the Santee-Lakeside Rotary Club and the Downtown San Diego Rotary Club showed up on Saturday to volunteer at Feeding San Diego.
These two Rotary clubs and three Interact students came together in a powerful act of service, volunteering their time and heart with Feeding San Diego. Their hands sorted and bagged oranges, but their compassion delivered something even greater — hope, dignity, and nourishment for families across our region.
In just two hours, Rotarians and Interactors helped turn hunger into possibility.
Their teamwork reminds us that when Rotarians unite, we don’t just fill boxes… we fill lives with care.
All in all, these two clubs sorted and bagged 3,049 pounds of oranges which will be offered to 2,114 family households in San Diego County.
