Spreading cheer to those in need is what Rotarians do. Listed below are three club's efforts to help those in need.
Recently, members of the Encinitas Coastal Rotary Club convened to assemble 120 mini stockings filled with candy and Target gift cards for the children at MCAS Miramar. Community Service Chair, Ralphmann, acted as Santa's helper and delivered the stockings to the base. This long-standing tradition has become one of the club's most cherished service projects, and they were proud to bring some holiday cheer to these remarkable families
La Mesa Rotary once again partnered with Christian Brothers to assemble over 170 bikes for elementary students. Mt. Miguel Interact and Grossmont Interact also participated in the effort. Club members appreciated that the students joined them in participating in a community service project.
Recently, members of the Santee-Lakeside Rotary Club collected or contributed to purchase of personal care items for inbound seniors served by Meals on Wheels. Once the items were secured, members made rounds around the table, filling bags with personal items, puzzle books, and other little goodies, totaling 48! Rotarian Sandy Pugliese played Santa's elf and delivered these Christmas Care Bags to on Wheels on Wheels, where they were received with delight!
Recently, local school students participated in the Escondido Christmas Parade. With the assistance of Escondido Rotary President Dave, they decorated John Boyce's company truck, transforming it into Rudolph, complete with a festive Christmas banner from the Sunrise Rotary Club. The Escondido Jaycees celebrated their 71st Annual Christmas Parade, marking it as longest-running community event in Escondido. What wonderful tradition to the holiday season!
