The Rotary Club of Chula Vista Eastlake members embarked on a journey to Casa Para Pobres Desamparados, a sanctuary for neglected elders in La Rumorosa, Mexico. Traversing a rugged, unpaved road, they reached the ranch-style facility that houses around 35 elderly men requiring urgent care and companionship.
On Saturday, September 14, their committed volunteers began their day early, bringing along food, blankets, adult diapers, medical supplies, and clothing contributions. They eagerly engaged in repair work, upkeep, and delivered essential care to the inhabitants. It was a day of strenuous labor and touching interactions, as they contributed a modest, yet significant impact, on the lives of these elderly individuals.
