All Rotarians are warmly invited to attend District 5340's Youth Instrumental Winners’ Celebration Concert on Saturday, April 18 at 1:00 PM at the Schulman Auditorium, Carlsbad City Library (1775 Dove Lane).
This is a wonderful opportunity to support these outstanding young musicians—and to take part in selecting the top performers through audience vote.
The following students placed First in the recent Instrument Category Finals and will perform in the April 18 Concert. Thank you to the 12 Rotary Clubs that sponsored students to enter the District Competition.
Under 16 Age Group
- Winds: Steven Chen (saxophone) — Downtown San Diego RC
- Jazz: Aiden Stewart (piano) — La Jolla Sunrise RC
- Strings: Zen Parris (violin) — San Marcos RC
- Piano & Percussion: Bodhi Landin (piano) — Downtown San Diego RC
Over 16 Age Group
- Winds: Rashmi Chelliserry (flute) — Rancho Bernardo Noon RC
- Jazz: Alex Flores (piano) — La Jolla Sunrise RC
- Strings: Naomi de la Motte (violin) — Rancho Santa Fe RC
- Piano & Percussion: YoYo Wu (marimba) — Del Mar RC
Audience members will help award two $1,000 top prizes, one per age group, making your participation especially meaningful. We plan to use a digital voting app, so please bring your smartphone to the concert. I hope to see a strong Rotary presence as we celebrate these exceptional students.
