
Looking for a service project that has grown in size, scope and popularity?
Palm Desert Rotary might have what you are looking for. There are a few spots available for their annual cross-border multiple service project weekend in Mexicali that they do every January. They typically have participants from all over the Zone and we want to make this opportunity know to all Newsbits readers.
Date: January 9-11, 202
Cost: $125 and covers lunch and dinner Friday and Saturday night and includes $20 towards material costs for projects. Hotels are separate and cost approximately $99 to $120 per night/room.
Hotel: Reserve directly with Mexicali Courtyard by Marriott (011-52-686-454-5100). Mention Rotary to get your best rate.
Dress: Its cool temperatures in January. Friday night - informal; Saturday night is a bit dressier.
The projects include:
- Cleanup, paint and plant vegetable garden at Eduardo Huet School for the Deaf
- Visiting UREDAE homeless shelter
- Helping with tasks in building a new playground
- Visiting a new community charity outside Mexicali
Please bring one box of NEW toys/blankets/food to provide for the needy. Do not bring anything used!
