Celebrate California Biodiversity Day with a fun Bioblitz! Less than a year ago, Solana Beach Eco Rotary Club (SBERC) created a SMRT (Stormwater Makes Retained Treasure) Garden in the San Dieguito Park. The SBERC took a small lot at the bottom of a parking lot and road that was full of invasive weeds and cleared it. They also created bioswales to catch stormwater and planted native plants to attract native pollinators. The garden is thriving and teaming with life now. But how well is it generating biodiversity less than one year in? Come join them and learn how to use iNaturalist and eBird for this citizen science project.
