I just returned from spending four days in Imperial Valley visiting 6 Rotary clubs. I had the most amazing experience with my time in the Valley. Did you know that the first club in D5340 was San Diego, Club-33 and that the next three clubs formed in D5340 where in the Imperial Valley?  The Imperial Valley Centennial Celebration is coming up in 2022. Stay tuned for more information.

On Wednesday morning, I visited the Imperial Breakfast club where President Peggy runs an efficient meeting, and we inducted several new members. From there, I headed out to Blythe and the Steaks and Cakes restaurant, where the Blythe Rotary Club has been meeting for many years. It was a pleasure to see everyone and a special thanks to Mike Cusick who helped me get my flat tire repaired. From there I headed to Calexico for the evening meeting with President George Marquez where we inducted one (out of four) new member. We enjoyed the best homemade Mexican food you could ask for. The Club surprised me with a sombrero, serape, and a bottle of tequila.

On Thursday, I visited the El Centro Rotary club and Past President Karina ran the meeting as President James had an emergency medical issue with his father. We wish James and his father all the best. On Thursday evening the Brawley club had their semi-annual social at the home of Robert and Betty Trimm. The setting was spectacular, the food was amazing the fellowship was outstanding. The Brawley club is home to PDG Nick Pricola who recently had some health setbacks but is looking great. President Dillon will have led his club as President for over 2 years when this term ends. Thanks for your dedication, Dillon.

On Friday, I went to the Holtville Rotary club and enjoyed the best New York steaks you could ask for, thanks to Jack Vessey. Past President Dan Daniels led the meeting, and we enjoyed some great fellowship. Assistant Governor Hortencia was an amazing trooper and accompanied me at most of the meetings. Thanks to the Imperial Valley for the warm hospitality and the great memories!!
