On Saturday June 21st we will once again gather for the Switchfoot BroAM and this year it will be even more epic than ever!

There will be a full day of surf contests, surf jousting, live music and over 50 vendors while raising money for charity.  If you signed up to volunteer, thank you!  Please be sure to share the experience with family and friends.  Swing by the Surfers Unite Rotarian Fellowship tent to jump in "the Barrel" with some amigos too!  Here are some things you should know about the 21st Annual Switchfoot BroAM:

REGISTRATION
If you completed the registration on the Surfers Unite Events page and signed up on the Switchfoot BroAM Volunteer link then you likely already selected a task, know what time to be at Moonlight Beach and will have secured a rad BroAM Volunteer t-shirt.  If you missed a step, click below:  https://www.broam.org/volunteer.

WHERE TO START
The BroAM Volunteer check-in tent is in the Beachfest area North of the stage.

WHERE WE ARE AT
The Surfers Unite Rotarian Fellowship tent is right next to the Switchfoot BroAM Volunteer tent so drop on by!

HYDRATION
Bring a hydroflask and you can refill it with water at the Rob Machado Foundation Hydration station throughout the day.  Make sure you have a rad Surfers Unite Rotarian Fellowship sticker on that hydroflask but if you need one, come by our tent and we'll hook you up!  The folks at Suja will also be on hand with quite a few other vendors.  Also look for Chick-Fil-A and Board & Brew too.

SWAG
Need some awesome Surfers Unite / Rotary gear?  We have our brand-new black zip up hoodies, our awesome dri-fit shirts and a bunch of cool new styled embroidered hats including the long-awaited bucket hats.  If you purchase it this week, we will get it to you before the event or have it for you to pick up.  Stay shielded from the sun especially if you plan on being at the event throughout the day.  Jump on our Gear Store and treat yourself to the coolest Rotary gear on the planet: https://surfersunite.org/Gear.

SUN BLOCK
Wear sunscreen to protect yourself from UV rays.  We also suggest you stop by the SunBum tent to support them too.  Not only do they offer some really great reef safe products, but SunBum is also based in Encinitas and are fellow sponsors of this event!  Get your SunBum on.

PHOTOS
Feel free to upload/download and share your photos to the following Google Photo Album: https://photos.app.goo.gl/Jt2iBKWkrpTagyeN7.

PARKING
Honestly if you are getting to Moonlight Beach before 9AM you will find parking somewhere in the zip code of 92024.  If you can take the Coaster from Solana Beach to Encinitas that is smart.  Free shuttles will be running from Seacoast Community Church (1050 Regal Rd, Encinitas, CA 92024) to and from Bro-Am from 10AM - 6PM.

CONTACTS
We will be logging people interested in joining a Rotary Club on our District Membership page as well as gather interest from folks to support upcoming Surfers Unite events such as Life Rolls On with adaptive surfers, 100 Wave Challenge for Boys to Men Mentoring with at-risk youth and future Beach Clean Up events.  We are grateful for the support of Rotary District 5340 and our Zone in making this outreach event possible.  We have been a sponsor of this event for 8 years and I've been involved since 2009.  Bring some amigos by our booth, make some new friends while serving and get others stoked on volunteering within our community.  District Membership Chair Ranjan Lajiri will be on hand as we utilize QR Codes and gather the details to help grow our family of Rotary.  The link below might come in handy:

BENEFICIARIES
Although this is a free family friendly event our goal is to help raise $250,000 for the charities the Switchfoot BroAM supports so tell others about it.  This year's beneficiaries include: A Step Beyond, Challenged Athletes Foundation, Feeding San Diego, The Monarch School, Rady Children's Hospital and Save the Music Foundation.  The VIP Benefit Party is on the 19th so drop a line if interested.

LINEUP
The Music is always special, and we'll have over 5 hours of live performances including Gable Price and Friends, Angel White, Julianna Zachariou, Winnabago and others.  Expect Switchfoot to take the stage a little after 3:30PM and the boys are going to rock until 5PM.  For some of you this may be your first BroAM, others are veterans but regardless play this Vimeo clip at your club and I'm sure folks will be thrilled to be "on board" with this event:  https://vimeo.com/971408289.
