The Rotary Club of El Cajon Sunset held its community grant award night on Nov. 18, 2021. In this event, San Diego Tema Sister Cities Association was awarded $2000 for a school computer lab in Tema Ghana (picture below). Several Sister Cities were represented, including Panama City and Yokohama Japan.
 
 
Water or Children Africa of El Cajon was awarded $3000 for its continued rain harvesting and storage water tanks for schools in Kenya. Haiti earthquake relief efforts and mentorship efforts for youth were also funded at $500 each.
 
 
Participants got to view a number of displays of recent service projects by RC El Cajon Sunset. PP Dominic highlighted his Oct 2021 trip to Kenya with President Richard and the work they did to provide water at schools, masks and school supplies to Machakos school for the disabled students. Additionally, they provided food, backpacks and school supplies to Malia orphanage.  The evening culminated with District Governor Dan Gensler's club visit and great program.
