Monte Cassino, the liberation of Rome, the Gothic Line campaign and the liberation of Milan. Max enlisted shortly after Pearl Harbor and was being trained for the artillery when it was noticed that he was fluent in French and Italian, and he was transferred to Army Intelligence.
