Thanks so much for your dedicated support of the Care ‘n Share Toy Drive! Since inception we’ve collected and distributed over 122,000 donations to children in need. Amazing! Give yourself a hand!

I (Nancy Stoke) write to let you know that I am retiring from the Care ‘n Share Toy Drive (my 70th birthday and aging hips & shoulders insist!) and that I leave the project in the very capable hands of the terrific staff of the Foundation for the Children of the Californias (FCC) which has been a major recipient for 10+ years and is taking the leadership role along with fabulous volunteers from several Rotary Clubs. We all agree this is a great solution to ensure that the Toy Drive will continue to serve many more children and provide Fair guests and the community an opportunity to experience the joy of sharing with those in need. Cheers too, to the management team at the Fairgrounds; we are delighted that they support this project and its vast community benefits.

We are still in the planning stages, working hard to assure a smooth transition and workflow to handle the estimated 5-6,000 donations via a process that will continue to need and welcome your volunteer efforts. If you’d like to help with an aspect of the overall project coordination, please let us know! May I assume please that I have your permission to pass your contact information on to FCC so that they may reach out to you? Thank you!

We do need your help please to find a new 400-500 sq ft space to store donations each night after the Fair closes and prepare them for distribution. Any suggestions you have for such a space are most welcome, as is your feedback as we make minor needed changes.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out to Lorena and Amanada with any questions and/or suggestions and watch for them to reach out to you as the transition proceeds.  The goal is to have collection gate volunteers lined up by the middle/end of May for the Fair’s start date of June 10th.
