It was quite a day on November 16 for Carlsbad Hi-Noon Rotary (CHNR). Over 70 Rotarians, family members and friends worked in partnership with The Outreach Project to package and box meals for 10,000 people.  The food will be presented to the North County Food Bank for distribution.

The Outreach Project presented the bulk food and CHNR members worked in teams in an assembly-line approach to package all the food.  It was boxed and recorded for future use, and, we were told, it was done in record time.

CHNR identified “food insecurity” as its main service focus in 2020 and that focus continues.  In fact, the North County Food Bank presented Carlsbad Hi-Noon Rotary with its Group Volunteer Award last Wednesday at its awards ceremony.  President Raegan Matthews accepted on behalf of the club and LeAnn Rytz is the hardworking Community Service Director who coordinates the club’s service activities.

Thanks to all who participated in this well-organized service project!
