In 2017, Shamine Linton established Sharia's Closet with a mission to provide free emergency clothing to individuals in immediate need. This initiative was culmination of eleven years of work that began with her collecting and distributing clothing from her home to people throughout San Diego who were with homelessness, addiction, unemployment, and other financial hardships. Sharia's Closet is dedicated to empowering individuals with clothing to promote self-esteem and self- within the community.
On October 8th, Shamine accepted an Art Pratt Grant of $4000. The funds were used to purchase for staff in the retail store.
