On May 15, 2026, members gathered once again — some traveling across the county, some across the country — to celebrate 40 years of service, friendship, and impact.
Twelve of the original founders returned, greeted with applause, gratitude, and the unmistakable warmth of old friends reunited.
President David Chong welcomed them home: “The projects we have completed, the lives we have touched, the members we have inspired — all of it traces back to your vision and maverick enthusiasm.”
The room was filled with music — “Lovely Day,” “Count on Me,” “Thank You for Being a Friend” — songs chosen because they captured the spirit of the club itself.
There were memories.
There was laughter.
There were names spoken in remembrance — members who shaped the club and whose legacies continue to guide it.
And above all, there was pride. Pride in what had been built. Pride in what had been sustained. Pride in what was still to come.
From a bold vision in 1986 to 40 years of "Service Above Self," the story of District 5340's La Jolla Golden Triangle is truly inspiring.
