Rotaract at UC San Diego is sending you an invitation to our 10th Annual WAPI Project on Sunday, January 26th from 10am - 4pm
The event is from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm but please feel free to arrive and depart anytime throughout the event. As one of our bigger projects, we would like to have District 5340 join us to foster collaboration between our organizations while positively serving our global community.
Help us get to our goal of making and testing 800 water pasteurization indicators (WAPIs) to send to resource-poor regions across the world. Don't know how to make a WAPI? No worries -- we have volunteers ready to help you through the process! We hope you're just as excited as we are for this year's WAPI Project.
If you or your organization members are interested in this opportunity, please individually fill out this form by Tuesday, January 21.
Important: The form is for securing a spot for food, and RSVP members are prioritized if food runs out.
Once you confirm your attendance, we will be sending parking directions, the venue details and the itinerary closer to the event date.
WAPI stands for Water Pasteurization Indicators. These are reusable wax capsules that indicate when heated water has reached pasteurization temperature before boiling point and is safe to be consumed. In some areas of the world, communities collect water from natural sources, which are often ridden with disease-causing bacteria. WAPIs allow these communities to access safe water more efficiently and save on resources.
