On August 12, for the second year, the Rancho Bernardo Rotary Club assisted the Escondido Salvation Army with providing essential school supplies to over 200 children from low income families. The Club contributed over $800 toward this effort.  Each student received a backpack with binders, dividers, ruled paper, folders, crayons, pens, pencils, pencil sharpeners, rulers and other essential items to start school. Thirteen Rancho Bernardo Rotarians checked the students in, assisted  loading backpacks and helped distribute a bag of Hallmark supplies to each family.  Rotarians also served food and supervised a water slide activity.  What a great way to begin the school year for these children.
