A Peace Pole donated by La Jolla Golden Triangle Rotary Club was installed at The Preuss School UC San Diego. To help promote the concept of peace, the La Jolla Golden Triangle Rotary Club, through its Peace Committee, donated a peace pole that became part of a newly created zen garden on the campus of The Preuss School UC San Diego. The project has been a cooperative effort between members of the La Jolla Golden Triangle Rotary club and The Preuss School’s Interact club.
The words “May Peace Prevail on Earth” are inscribed on the pole in eight different languages, the choice of which was made by the students and reflects some of the languages spoken by Preuss' families.
The project started in the winter of 2019-2020 but was delayed due to COVID-19. With the help of retired teacher, Eric Romer, and Tamima Noorzay of UCSD, the project was finally able to be completed and was presented to the Preuss community on Thursday, April 21, 2022.
