District 5340 recently gathered for a special morning of gratitude, fellowship, and reflection at the Legacy Lights Appreciation Breakfast and State of the District.

The event gave District Governor Luis Carranza the opportunity to share a meaningful State of the District address, highlighting the continued growth, collaboration, and momentum across District 5340, while also recognizing the importance of supporting clubs, youth leadership, Rotaract, Interact, and the future of Rotary in our region and beyond.

The morning also celebrated and honored our district’s Arch Klumph Society members and Legacy Society members for their extraordinary generosity and continued support of The Rotary Foundation. District 5340 is especially proud to be recognized as the top district in Rotary International for the number of Arch Klumph Society members, a remarkable reflection of the commitment and vision of our donors.

Joining the gathering were Past District Governors, the District Governor line, and special guests, making it a wonderful opportunity to reconnect, celebrate, and express heartfelt appreciation to those whose generosity continues to change lives.

One of the most moving and memorable moments of the morning was the surprise recognition of Past District Governor Dan Gensler, who was presented with the Regional Service Award for a Polio-Free World. This distinguished honor, presented by The Rotary Foundation Trustees, recognizes extraordinary contributions toward Rotary’s mission to eradicate polio and is awarded only to a limited number of recipients, making it a rare and meaningful recognition.

The Legacy Lights Breakfast was a beautiful reminder of what Rotary does best: honoring generosity, celebrating service, and coming together to build a stronger future.
