The weather was perfect on Saturday, October 12, 2019 for the 8th Annual Rotary Club of Del Mar's Chili & Quackers Challenge. They had all varieties of chili, including an entry from PDG, Mel Gallegos. A big thank you is extended to the Rotary Club of Del Mar-Solana Beach for the loan of canopies that provided chili cooks with much needed shade. The Del Mar lifeguards loaded more than 1,000 ducks into their surf rescue boat and piloted them to the surf line for launch. The ducks all found their way to shore quickly and everyone on the beach (and even on doodle) helped us ensure that all ducks came back safely.
Proceeds from this fundraiser will help the Rotary Club of Del Mar with many of their community outreach programs, both at the local and international level. The event is well known and has raised the visibility of Rotary within the community.
