On Tuesday, July 30th, the Art Pratt Foundation of Old Mission Rotary awarded a $10,000 grant to the Air & Space Museum for the specific purpose of renovating their uniform and textile collection's basement storage room. The new state-of-the-art storage and shelving systems will enable Collections Curator Becky Conrad to organize and catalog the invaluable collection.
President and CEO Jim Kidrick, along with Collection & Research Director Katrina Pescador, expressed their gratitude to Old Mission Rotary for the grant. Rotarians were honored with a lunch and a guided tour of the museum. Many attendees, having not visited the museum for years, were thoroughly impressed and resolved to return soon with friends and family.
The San Diego Air & Space Museum, an aviation and space exploration museum located in Balboa Park, first opened its doors to the public in February 1963 and has been a beloved and ever-evolving San Diego attraction.
