Many Rotary districts require a Live Scan fingerprint background check for adults who have direct contact with youth. In California, this is common due to state law and district policies.
This process typically involves going to a Live Scan location, having your fingerprints taken, and sending them to the California Department of Justice and the FBI for a criminal background check.
In addition to Live Scan, districts often require an additional background check through a third-party provider (e.g., IntelliCorp) specifically for Youth Exchange volunteers.
