Peace Heroes Walk in Carlsbad March 19
North County Rotarians, Jenny Parker and Dennis Reese have teamed up with Jerry Leggett from the Dayton, Ohio Rotary Club to celebrate peace heroes. A Peace Heroes Walk in Carlsbad is planned for March 19, 2017 and is free and open to the public. It is their hope that there will be a large Rotary presence at this event. Mr. Leggett will be in San Diego for six weeks prior to the walk (mid-February to the end of March) speaking at a number of Rotary clubs and events. Jerry is a musician and peace advocate. He is the founder of the 21st Century Peace Literacy Foundation (http://www.peaceliteracyfoundation.org) and the Peace Heroes Walk Around the World. Jerry has organized very successful walks in Dayton and other cities. In 2007-2008, Jerry organized a 250-stop multimedia Peace Bubble Tour to inspire a culture of peace in cities across the United States. While on tour, he conducted more than 7,000 video interviews with people from diverse backgrounds, asking the question "What does a more peaceful world look like to you?" Jerry also served as executive director of the Dayton International Peace Museum from 2013 to 2016.
