La Costa

The goal and mission of Surfers Unite Rotarian Fellowship is to create a fellowship that engages Rotary members, their family and Interact, Rotaract and potential new members to hold fun events related to surfing and stand up paddle boarding.  It was started to create CHAMPS in the world for Rotary:

  • Connect Rotarians from around the world who share a passion for surfing
  • Host Rotarians and host learn to surf events
  • Attract younger members to Rotary by using learn to surf events for Interact and Rotaract
  • Mentor youth
  • Paddle out for Polio - a great way for Rotary clubs to raise awareness, fund End Polio Now and engage others.  There will be a Paddle Out for Polio event in Honolulu in 2020
  • Share the Aloha spirit
This coming weekend there is an upcoming event you might want to check out.  It is the 1st Annual Rotaract Learn to Surf Event - Powerhouse Park from 8 to 10:00 a.m. on July 15 in Del Mar.  That's right - its for Rotaract SDSU, USD, UCSD, San Diego, City Heights or Pacific Beach.   Come get on a surf board and have some fun.  Interested?  Respond to the Surfers Unite Rotarian Fellowship Facebook event page and indicate if you will be able to make it.

On September 10, the Life Rolls On event will occur at La Jolla Shores.  This is a great opportunity to introduce Interact and Rotaract members to those who work as Physical Therapists and Occupational Therapists.  Life Rolls On is a fantastic non-profit dedicated to giving children and adults who are paralyzed or injured the opportunity to surf.  Check out their site and register for Life Rolls On
