Council on Legislation Enacts Legislation During 2016 Session

With the conclusion of the 2017 Council on Resolutions (COR), the Council has released a brand new Report of Action.  The report, which is available for online download, includes several parts, including:

  • A letter from General Secretary John Hewko;
  • Resolutions that were adopted; and
  • Vote tallies for the adopted items.

The Council met in late 2017 to review a total of 38 resolutions submitted for consideration. Resolutions spanned a wide range of topics, including:

  • Additional research into club flexibility;
  • Maintaining original member info when terminated members return to Rotary;
  • Addition of core values and mission to Rotary;
  • Maintaining per capita dues at their current levels, and many more.

The Council adopted 17 resolutions, of which 15 were recommendations to the RI Board and two were recommendations to The Rotary Foundation Trustees. The Board and the Trustees will consider these items at their upcoming meetings.
