The San Diego South Bay Rotary Club held an installation dinner for their newly chartered Rotaract Club.  The dinner meeting was held at Jimmy's Family Restaurant on Plaza Blvd. in National City, which is where the club will meet going forward.

The Rotaract Certificate of Organization was presented to President, Ryan Manalac.  The Club chartered with 21 members in June 2017, with Romero Villanueva serving as their club advisor.  Members were all related to Club members or were invited by Club members to join.  Most of the Rotaractors attended the School of Creative and Performing Arts in San Diego.  One of their members - America Capelo is a very talented cellist and plays with the Youth Symphony.  Many of the members graduated in June and are going to different colleges.   The Rotaract Club is planning its first service project, serving meals at Father Joe's Village with their sponsoring club, San Diego South Bay Rotary Club.  At the installation dinner, Assistant Governor, Marta Knight welcomed members to Rotary and into the District 5340 family and shared with them the many things the District does.  Besides presenting the Certificate of Organization, Marta had the privilege of pinning each new member and provided each of them with their Charter Member Certificate.
