2015-16 DGE Janice Kurth honored in Sydney

In April ofthis year a vocational training team (VTT) from Rotary District 2770 in Japan was here in San Diego to study how  health care is delivered to the elderly, with emphasis on dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.  Dr. Janice Kurth, District 5340 VTT chair set up important meetings with health care providers and researchers for this training team.

In recognition for her efforts, Dr. Kurth and her husband Matt were the special guests at the District 2770 Governor’s Dinner in Sydney, Australia.  This dinner was held the evening before the Rotary International Convention began in Sydney.  

DGE Janice was asked to address this meeting. Of course, her remarks had to be translated by Mr. Makato Ihara, the District 2770 VTT leader and DGE 2015-16 for District 2770. 

Good food and Australian wine helped mark a special evening of international fellowship. Janice said: " At the end of the evening, all in attendance made a circle and held hands and sang a Japanese Rotary song – the only work I knew was “Rotary”.
