The San Diego Downtown Breakfast Rotary Foundation will host its 11th Annual "Holes for Heroes" Golf Tournament and Military Appreciation Event on Friday, September 15, 2017 starting at 10:30 a.m. at the Lomas Santa Fe Country Club: 1505 Lomas Santa Fe Drive, Solana Beach, CA  92075.   This event provides an opportunity to spend a day on the green and dine with the troops that defend us.  Veterans, their family members and friends join us for a fun, relaxing day filled with golf and use of the Country Club grounds including the pool, gym, tennis and spa facilities.  The fantastic day concludes with the Holes for Heroes Recognition Dinner with more than 200 people in attendance to honor World War II and Vietnam veterans and former POWs.  Special honorees this year are WW II veterans and families of those lost.

Proceeds from the event directly benefit local charities: Freedom Dogs, Honor Flight San Diego, Pegasus Rising, Armed Services YMCA, Homefront San Diego, One More Wave Surf Camp, Veteran's Village San Diego, Operation BIGS, Physician Advocates for Veterans, USO/San Diego Neil Ash Airport Center and Angels of American's Fallen.

The San Diego Downtown Breakfast Rotary Club has a long tradition of supporting the local San Diego military community.  Holes for Heroes is 100 percent volunteer based, which allows for all proceeds to benefit local military charities.  The tournament is a great opportunity to support an important cause, enjoy the excellent golf course and spend a day honoring the men and women of the military who make the ultimate sacrifice of "Service Above Self."  Holes for Heroes has raised over $1 million since 2006 and hopes to continue the mission of honoring, celebrating and supporting men and women of the military.  This year's goal is to raise $150,000.
